Standing Strong NC

Standing Strong NC is a new statewide initiative and public awareness campaign to prevent older adult injuries and deaths from unintentional falls. Standing Strong NC was created by the NC Center for Health and Wellness at UNC Asheville (NCCHW), in partnership with the North Carolina Falls Prevention Coalition (NCFPC).

The mission of the Standing Strong NC initiative is to prevent falls and save lives! Standing Strong NC raises awareness among older adults in NC about the impact of falls and helps North Carolinians find practical tips on how to prevent falls. Last year in NC, four adults died every day due to a fall and many more were injured. Falls are not a normal part of aging, and most falls are preventable. The campaign website has numerous tips and resources with simple steps to reduce fall risk. Watch our public service announcements and explore StandingStrongNC.org to find action steps that you can take! #StandingStrongNC
